Our Easter Weekend

I'm not one for making a huge deal of Easter, buying lots of toys, baskets and putting out Easter bunny footprints. To me, that should be reserved for Christmas. However I do love Easter for the long weekend and the chance to spend time with family and friends.

We had a quiet day on Friday, catching up with jobs around the home, having a rest and enjoying the beautiful weather. The children love being outside and when daddy and J had a nap, I had a chance to relax in the sun whilst H played with her water table.

On Saturday we had a trip to the farm with our friends and their children. The farm was absolutely packed so we struggled a little with the buggies, but the children loved running around, looking at and feeding all the animals and spending time with each other.

The donkey ride we a huge hit and then they had the chance to scoff down an ice cream treat.

Afterwards we returned to our friends house and after the children had settled we had some adult time with a drink or two.

On Sunday we visited my in-laws. My sister and brother-in-law are home from Germany and it was lovely to spend time with them, the kids love them. Last year we had a little egg hunt at my in-laws for H, and this year J was old enough to join in. Everyone got involved though, even 6ft Uncle Chris who loved helping J find the eggs!

On Monday we visited my parents in Yorkshire. The weather was lovely so we had chance to sit outside in the garden and the children played on the grass and had a picnic. J got a new Fireman Sam toy instead of an egg and he adores it - he even took it to bed last night!

We had a busy, but fantastic Easter. Unfortunately Mr H has had to go back to work now and we miss him loads. At least the next Bank Holiday isn't too far away!
