Review: Poopsie Unicorn Slime Surprise

If your child is like mine, they will love slime - I don't think there's many children who haven't latched on to this craze which sees kids messing with glue and chemicals to create something that sticks to carpets and fabric and will not be removed. As you can probably tell, it isn't my favourite trend! However the kids love it and on occasion I have relented and let them get some, and when we were recently sent the new Poopsie Unicorn Slime Surprise to try that was one of those times.

The Poopsie Unicorn toy is a new release and set to be a huge seller this Christmas, not to mention it featuring on the Top Toys for Christmas by Dreamtoys. I was intrigued as to what it was all about and the children were more than happy to rip it open and get started.

The box has a collectible element to it, as you unbox the whole thing as you would do with something like an L.O.L. doll - the outer packaging peels off to reveal lots of surprise blind bags within, full of the ingredients for slime making and accessories for the doll.

Finally you reveal the unicorn doll, which is actually quite large, along with a few more accessories.

The idea with the toy is that you make the slime and feed it to your unicorn and she poops it out the other end - delightful! Of course for kids anything to do with slime and pooping is a winner, so we got to making. Both my children can read however I did have to supervise to make sure it all went to plan.

Actually feeding the doll and getting it to poop correctly is a bit hit and miss - you have to make sure the belly button is popped out and the inside compartment is properly 'clicked' in place, otherwise you will have a messy failure on your hands. It took us a couple of goes but we finally got it right and the children cheered with excitement.

I don't see this as necessarily something the children will get out too often - mainly because if they're making the slime it needs adult supervision. However I can see it being played with alongside other toys so I think it has potential. It does have a bigger price tag at £49.99 though, however if you have a child who loves unicorns and slime then this is the gift for them! You can buy the Poopsie Unicorn Slime Surprise from Smyths, Argos and The Entertainer.

*We were sent this FOC however all opinions are my own.
