April has come to an end and we are heading off to Rhodes to kick off May. We are all so excited for our holiday - it's our first one as a family of four for a couple of years and this time we are in a hotel so everything will be taken care of for us. I'm hoping it will give us time to relax and regroup, as things are still pretty hard at home at the moment.

Each year as April approaches I start to get pretty excited. For us bloggers it is the beginning of the season where we have the chance to get together in 'real life' rather than the virtual one, chat about something we all have in common and refine our craft - it is the start of the blogging conferences.

Last week saw hundreds of us waiting up until midnight, constantly clicking refresh, awaiting some big news. A few of us sat on Twitter, chatting together, killing the time. For those of you who aren't aware, it was the day when primary schools places were announced. Like many councils, our local results were revealed online just after midnight and as the minutes approached I began to get butterflies. Would we get a school we would be happy sending our first born to, or would we have to deal with appealing and the disappointment of a possible failure?
One by one the results filtered through and via Twitter and Facebook and shouts of happiness or disappointment were announced. We were fortunate to get the results we wanted, but not everyone was. Regardless of the sentiment though, we all came together to share in the moment.

Last week was a huge week for this linky and I am so happy to see so many people joining in. In fact there were so many I'm still watching them as I type!
This week I'm sharing Katy Gibson's Day In The Life video because, wow! How much can one mum get done in a day?!
Over to the linky - as usual please share up to two videos, like and comment on them and subscribe to any new channels. Let's grow our channels together!

Home Decor: Planning My Kitchen
Thursday, 16 April 2015
Since we moved into our house just over two years ago we have been working our way through each room, filling in those magnolia walls and adding our own stamp. So far we've tackle the front room and Miss H's bedroom and have gradually been adding bits here and there to the others.
One room I am really excited to bring to life is our kitchen. Originally I was going for a teal colour scheme but with yellow becoming popular recently, I decided that it was perfect for creating a beautiful sunny kitchen and with some pops here and there it wouldn't be too intense.

Welcome back to Your Youtube week twenty! After a lovely Easter break we are back and ready to hit the vlogging up! I hope you've got lots of great videos to share, so we'll head straight on over to the linky.
Link up no more than two videos and please try and comment on at least two. The great thing about this linky is how many vloggers I have now found through it and how great the community is. I hope everyone who links up feels the same.

If you like this linky and feel I deserve it, I would love to be nominated in the Video category of the BIB's 2015 - voting closes on Sunday!

CFS Guilt

It's Easter weekend, the sun has made a small appearance and we are having a lovely weekend in the Yorkshire Dales. Even Miss H, who hasn't been very well the last two days, has seen a park and run off contentedly. Daddy is supervising, as J has a tendency to throw himself onto or off anything he shouldn't. And I'm sat down, on a folded buggy due to lack of benches, missing it all.
All around me parents play with their children, pushing them on swings or helping them master the climbing frame and whether in imagining it or not, I feel them staring at me.
Look at her, she's young, she's relatively fit. Why is she sat there staring at her phone whilst the dad does all the work? How lazy! How uninterested in her kids! How selfish!
And there it is again, that old friend of mine, guilt. It comes in many forms and for many reason but it's there daily, and sometimes constantly. Especially when I hear the children begging me to play with them and get off the sofa. I try my best but after five minutes of playing 'ninjago' with J (a very vigorous activity where you spin and knock into each other) or an assault course with them both, and I am ready for bed. Making food for them in tiring enough and yesterday my hand ached after pushing H on the swing for five minutes. Seriously. Is this all there is?
